Graphite One Wins Defense Logistics Agency Program to Evaluate Domestic Graphite Materials for High-Temperature Uses

NOME, Alaska — Graphite One Inc. announced on October 26 that its wholly owned subsidiary, Graphite One (Alaska) Inc., has received a new research and development program award from the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency to develop and evaluate advanced carbon materials sourced from domestic resources for high-temperature defense thermal management applications. It is the third defense logistics development agreement the company has received since 2023.
The project will evaluate advanced carbon-based composite materials made from resources of the Graphite Creek deposit, covering material processing, thermal performance evaluation and performance reporting, in support of the industrial base for high-temperature systems and resilient domestic supply chains. Graphite One said it will work with national laboratory facilities and industry consultants on technical evaluation and stakeholder engagement.
Dr. Vaibhav Jain, a Defense Logistics Agency research and development program manager, said advanced thermal management is a critical focus in high-temperature materials development, and that evaluating and qualifying domestic material sources is an essential part of strengthening supply chain resilience. No specific funding amount or completion timeline has been announced for the program; further official announcements will govern.
