Branchburg's Green Summit Approved as a New Jersey Clean Energy New Construction Partner, Certified Across All Five Pathways

Branchburg Township, Somerset County, New Jersey, announced on October 26 that Green Summit, an engineering and tax-incentive consulting firm, has been approved as a partner in the New Jersey Clean Energy Program's New Construction Program partner network, the only company certified across all five new-construction pathways. The approved pathways include Alternative Performance, Bundled, Streamlined, and High Performance residential and non-residential, covering new single-family homes, townhomes, multifamily housing, and commercial and industrial buildings.
New Construction Program incentives reward buildings that exceed the state energy code, with applications submitted through approved partners, and are calculated per square foot of conditioned space: $1 per square foot for ENERGY STAR or LEED v4.1 certification, $1.75 for U.S. Department of Energy Zero Energy Ready Homes, and $2.50 for Phius certification, plus greenhouse-gas-reduction bonuses of up to $1.50 per square foot, and additional bonuses for all-electric systems and affordable housing. On that basis, a 2,000-to-4,000-square-foot single-family home can receive up to $10,000 before bonuses, a 70,000-square-foot Phius-certified multifamily building up to $280,000, and a 50,000-square-foot commercial building $50,000 at the ENERGY STAR tier or $125,000 at the Phius tier. Green Summit says a single point of contact can provide builders with energy modeling, HERS ratings, field testing and inspection services from plan review through final certification.
