Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia — The state Public Service Commission began evidentiary hearings on October 26 into the Mid-Atlantic Resiliency Link (MARL), with the hearing period running October 26 to 30 and November 2 at the Commission's Charleston headquarters. The line, 107.5 miles in total length and proposed by NextEra Energy Transmission MidAtlantic, runs from Pennsylvania through the Morgantown area to Virginia, with 58.9 miles crossing West Virginia's Monongalia, Preston, Mineral and Hampshire counties — the segment under review in these hearings.

Under the published schedule, the first two and a half days are mainly set aside for the testimony and cross-examination of the company's expected 10 witnesses, followed by testimony from intervenor witnesses; about 64 people have registered to intervene and may appear. The Commission said details of the case can be found in the case information section of its website, under Case No. 26-0075-E-CN.
