New Orleans Film Festival's Weekend Session on October 25: Multiple Screenings and 40-Plus Filmmaker Panels the Same Day

On October 25, the New Orleans Film Festival reached its core weekend session; the Oscar-qualifying festival runs October 22-27 at multiple venues across the city, with the weekend as its centerpiece. Screening venues on October 25 included the Contemporary Arts Center, the Broad Theater, the Prytania Theatre, The Historic New Orleans Collection and the Municipal Auditorium. The festival also ran a free filmmaker conference at its Contemporary Arts Center hub, with more than 40 panels and talks for filmmakers and audiences to exchange ideas. The all-access pass was $350, the unlimited screening pass $99, film-society member passes $85, and single tickets were also on sale. Unlike New Orleans' other festival events that day, the film festival is aimed at film fans and creators, with a program spanning international works and local new films. For New Orleans audiences, October 25 was the best time to watch multiple festival films in a single day and attend filmmaker panels — and a window into the city's cultural life in the week before Halloween.
