Detroit City Goalkeeper Herrera Wins USL Golden Glove Award with 14 Clean Sheets

Hamtramck, Wayne County, Michigan — The United Soccer League announced on October 26 that Detroit City FC goalkeeper Carlos Herrera has been named the winner of the 2026 Golden Glove award, presented annually to the league's best goalkeeper. Herrera made 55 saves in the regular season this year, helping Detroit City to a 14-9-7 record and the Eastern Conference's third seed. His 14 clean sheets and 0.63 goals-against average both ranked among the league's best. In a statement, Herrera said the award reflects the whole team's effort and the work of his teammates and staff, with the team's focus poured into every match, every minute and every play. It is the first time a Detroit City player has won a league individual award since 2022. Detroit City will host Hartford Athletic at Keyworth Stadium in Hamtramck at 8 p.m. on October 30, the second home playoff match in the club's history.
