Scramble Knights Online Launches in Early Access on October 26 at $12.99, Day One on Xbox Game Pass
Scramble Knights Online, an MMO-lite action RPG developed by Funktronic Labs, launched in Early Access on October 26 for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, appearing on Xbox as a Game Preview title. It is priced at $12.99 and joined Xbox Game Pass on day one, with Xbox Play Anywhere support and cross-play across all versions.
Players take on the role of knights-in-training in the shared online kingdom of Terracott, teaming up with friends for bite-sized quests. In its October 23 weekly roundup, Xbox Wire described the quests as Zelda-inspired, sending players across an archipelago of islands filled with towns, enemies and puzzle-filled dungeons. According to the game's Steam page, squads of up to four players conquer dungeons, slay monsters and collect rare loot, then return home to forge more powerful gear before the next quest.
The Early Access launch build includes the full 1-Star area, roughly five hours of content, along with an early version of faction PvP. The studio says the game is expected to remain in Early Access for at least one year, with the version 1.0 release expanding to at least 4-Star tiers of quests and areas for around 40 hours of content, and a first major update planned for this winter. The studio says there are currently no plans for in-game purchases, and that the price will rise as new content is added.
Founded in 2013, Funktronic Labs is releasing its first online multiplayer title at this scale. Xbox Wire's release week of October 26 to 30 lists about 50 games; Scramble Knights Online appears in the Game Pass day-one lineup alongside The Séance of Blake Manor on October 27 and Mouthwashing on October 29.
