Iowa Issues Disaster Proclamation for Harrison County, Activating Federal Highway Emergency Relief Funding

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds on October 26 issued a disaster proclamation for Harrison County, where storms beginning September 29 caused severe damage to highways and federal-aid routes. The proclamation takes effect immediately and remains in place for 30 days unless terminated or extended.
The proclamation activates the Federal Highway Administration's Emergency Relief (ER) Program, which authorizes federal funding to cover the extraordinary costs of repairing and reconstructing federal-aid roadways and bridges severely damaged by natural disasters or sudden structural failures.
The announcement was released by the Office of the Governor of Iowa. Harrison County lies in western Iowa, west of Des Moines; further details and application arrangements will be published by the governor's office and state transportation officials.
