Ohio Approves Tax Credits for 10 Projects: 1,359 New Jobs and More Than $2.2 Billion in Investment

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced on October 26 that the Ohio Tax Credit Authority has approved 10 economic development projects expected to create 1,359 new jobs and retain 1,824 positions, with more than $2.2 billion in investment and more than $142.3 million in new payroll.
The largest is Bayer's U.S. operation: its pharmaceutical manufacturing project in New Albany, Franklin County, carries 606 full-time positions and about $69.16 million in payroll by the end of 2034, and received a 2.157 percent, 30-year Job Creation Tax Credit. Bayer announced earlier this month that it would invest $2.2 billion in the New Albany site, which will produce oncology, cardiovascular and renal drugs; this approval covers the project's tax credit package.
The other nine projects span the state: Certus Medical in Westerville (45 jobs) and Forgent Power in Columbus (85) in the central region; Avtron Power Solutions in Valley View and Seven Hills (150) and Spray Products in Medina (32) in the northeast; AMEND Consulting in Cincinnati (80) and Kyocera Senco Industrial Tools in Anderson Township (37) in the southwest; and Delaware Nation Investments (125) and J.F. Taylor (17) in Beavercreek and Rittal in Urbana (182) in the west.
Credit rates and terms vary by project, from 1.204 percent to 2.157 percent and from seven to 30 years. Governor DeWine announced the approvals together with Lt. Governor Jim Tressel and Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik.
