Texas Announces $40 Million to Strengthen the Teacher Workforce Across 411 School Systems

Governor Greg Abbott announced on October 26 that Texas will award $40 million to 411 school systems across the state through the PREP Allotment to strengthen the teacher workforce.
The PREP Allotment was established by House Bill 2, passed by the 89th Texas Legislature and signed by Governor Abbott. The governor's office said Texas educators shape future generations and that it is critical they enter the classroom ready to teach, calling strong teachers the foundation of student success and saying the allotment will help school systems strengthen teacher preparation.
The list of recipient school systems and program details are posted on the Texas Education Agency's PREP Allotment webpage.
