Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Update 1.0.8 Lands October 27 With New Game+ and Nightmare Mode

Ubisoft's official patch notes for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced show update 1.0.8 going live on October 27 at 14:00 UTC on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, adding a free New Game+ mode and a Nightmare difficulty. Ubisoft calls it the remake's final major content update, with smaller quality-of-life updates to follow.
In New Game+, players restart the story while keeping Edward Kenway's tools, upgrades, weapons, trinkets, outfits, hideout progress, Kenway fleet ships and store purchases. Quest items are removed, officers must be recruited again, forts need retaking and the map fog resets. A new currency, Escudos, is earned through challenges and by looting previously completed chests, and Reales can be exchanged for Escudos at the General Store to buy New Game+ exclusives. Each cycle is harder, up to New Game+++++, five cycles in total.
Nightmare mode removes the safety nets: enemies deal 1.8 times the damage, parry timing is tighter, the white glint warning on enemy attacks is gone, ranged enemies fire more often, and the one-shot kill protection is disabled. Stealth is stricter, with faster detection, naval damage is increased and underwater activities are more dangerous. The update also brings back takedowns from the original game, plus new outfits, pet skins, trinkets and hidden community chests.
Patch sizes are 15.5 GB on Xbox Series X|S, 4.5 GB on PS5, 4.3 GB on PC and 2.1 GB on Steam. The game launched on July 9, 2026, and has sold 3 million copies.
