Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio — Forgent Power Solutions will establish a new corporate hub in downtown Columbus, creating 85 jobs with $12 million in new annual payroll, according to a daily business brief published by OhioMBE on October 27. The company will invest $3 million to build out 90,000 square feet of office space at 10 W. Nationwide Boulevard under a 10-year lease. The downtown operation will house customer service, project management, supply chain, finance, human resources and corporate strategy functions. Forgent designs and manufactures electrical distribution equipment used by data centers, utilities and industrial facilities, and the move is seen as strengthening Central Ohio's position in the rapidly growing power infrastructure supply chain.

The brief also noted two other Ohio expansions announced the same day, including a medical company that will set up a training laboratory in Westerville and create 45 jobs. Together, the three newly announced expansions are expected to create 162 jobs and retain another 156 positions. The addition of high-paying corporate functions and a long-term lease downtown also brings new support to the commercial vitality of downtown Columbus.
