Alaska Airlines Announces Anchorage–Tokyo Narita Nonstop Service Starting May 2027

Anchorage, Alaska — Alaska Airlines announced on October 27 that it will launch nonstop service from Anchorage to Tokyo Narita Airport in Japan in May 2027, the carrier's first-ever nonstop flight to Japan from its home state and part of a four-route expansion at its Anchorage hub. Unlike the airline's other transpacific routes, the new service will not depart from Seattle and will not use a large twin-aisle widebody jet; it will be flown with a single-aisle Boeing 737 MAX 8. Under the published schedule, the Anchorage–Tokyo Narita route will operate daily from May 13, 2027 through September 7, 2027, then resume at three flights a week in January 2028. The same announcement included new Saturday domestic routes from Anchorage to Austin and Dallas–Fort Worth in Texas and to Nashville, Tennessee, running from June 12 to August 7, 2027. Ticket sales and schedule details will be announced by the airline.
