US Signal Acquires 63,000-Square-Foot Data Center in Hillsboro, Oregon, Entering the Portland Metro Area

Hillsboro, Washington County, Oregon — US Signal, a national provider of network, data center and cloud infrastructure, announced on October 27 that it has acquired a 63,000-square-foot data center in an industrial park in Hillsboro, its first owned data center in the Portland metro area. The facility currently has about 14,000 square feet of data hall space and 4.5 megawatts of on-site power, with room to expand. Hillsboro is one of the tightest data center markets in the country, with vacancy estimated at about 0.2 percent in the first half of 2026. John White, US Signal's chief operating officer, said Hillsboro gives the company a way to grow in a market where available capacity is extremely limited, and that the company will bring the existing facility into its network, following its established approach of sizing data centers to their markets with the connectivity and services businesses need to grow. The acquisition builds on US Signal's existing Oregon presence in Bend; the company operates 17 data centers nationwide. It plans to expand colocation capacity at the facility, connect it to its fiber network and deploy OpenCloud infrastructure in the Pacific Northwest. The purchase is part of a broader growth program backed by its owner, Igneo Infrastructure Partners.
