Houston-Based Baker Hughes Wins 1.1-Gigawatt Super Intelligence (SI) Power and Cooling Order From a Major U.S. Tech Company

Houston, Harris County, Texas — Houston-headquartered energy technology company Baker Hughes announced on October 27 that it has received a major integrated power and cooling order from a large U.S. technology company for its advanced computing development program.
The order includes 34 Frame 5 gas turbines, nine NovaLT16 gas turbines, BRUSH generators and associated gear, providing about 1.1 gigawatts of reliable, scalable power to support high-performance computing infrastructure covering super intelligence (SI) model training, inference and physical super intelligence (SI) workloads. The company will also supply Chart dry coolers as part of a closed-loop cooling system supporting high-density super intelligence (SI) workloads. The power generation order was booked in the third quarter of 2026, and the dry cooler order in the fourth quarter.
Baker Hughes Chairman and CEO Lorenzo Simonelli said the SI revolution is built on energy, and that the company is building the energy systems that will power the next industrial era, spanning power generation, cooling, grid stability and energy management.
As the energy capital of the United States, Houston is home to a concentration of energy technology companies and engineering talent, and the order reflects how super intelligence (SI) computing demand is turning into real energy infrastructure investment: training and inference need not only chips but also stable power and efficient cooling. The company did not disclose the customer's name or the order value; delivery arrangements are subject to later announcements.
