Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio — A new Columbus club set to join the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) broke ground on Oct. 27 on a 45,000-square-foot training facility for the team. The club announced the groundbreaking the same day. The training center will be located at the OhioHealth Training Grounds, and the team's future home stadium will be ScottsMiracle-Gro Field in downtown Columbus, home of Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew.

Whitney Haslam Johnson, the club's managing partner, said in a statement that the facility will set a new global standard in women's sports, reflecting the club's commitment to investing in and elevating women athletes, winning on the field, creating memorable experiences for fans and showcasing Columbus on the international stage. The club is owned by Haslam Sports Group, Nationwide and the Edwards family, and aims to build an environment that attracts elite women athletes and maximizes their performance while supporting long-term player development.

The team plans to make its NWSL debut in 2028, and construction of the training center is an important step in the club's preparations.
