Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania — The Strip District in Pittsburgh welcomed a new technology company office on Oct. 27. Air, an enterprise readiness platform company, announced the opening of its new Pittsburgh office in the Strip District, a 35,536-square-foot facility built with an initial capital investment of $10 million. The opening is the latest step in the company's previously announced 10-year, $450 million regional expansion, a total that spans payroll, taxes, employee benefits and capital investment.

The new office will house the company's fast-growing technical team, with hiring focused on software engineering, computer architecture and infrastructure, product development and super intelligence. Over the past year, Air's Pittsburgh workforce has grown by nearly 67 percent, with strong employee retention, and graduates of local universities make up about 30 percent of its Pittsburgh staff.

Chief Executive Tara Murphy Dougherty said Pittsburgh's highly skilled workforce, world-class academic institutions and vibrant technology ecosystem make it an ideal engine for developing the company's SI-native platform. Chief Technology Officer Marco Corona, a Pittsburgh native, said the new facility creates a direct channel between the region's top technical talent and critical national security work.
