Nevada: Suspect Edgar Campos-Garcia Arrested in Reno Sutro Street Shooting, Charged With Open Murder
RENO, Washoe County, Nevada — Edgar Campos-Garcia, 44, was arrested on the evening of October 26 in connection with the Sutro Street shooting in Reno. He faces charges including open murder, obstructing and resisting with a deadly weapon, felony eluding, and driving a vehicle with expired registration.
The shooting occurred at about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, near Sutro Street and East 6th Street. One man was shot multiple times and died at a hospital; his identity has not been released pending notification of family. Police say the suspect surrendered peacefully after about 30 minutes of negotiation during the stop.
