SEATTLE, King County, Washington — The Seattle Seawolves of Major League Rugby (MLR) announced on October 27 that they have re-signed fly-half David 'Davy' Coetzer. The 27-year-old was born in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa, attended the University of Pretoria, and played for South Africa's U20 national team.

Coetzer joined the Houston SaberCats ahead of the 2022 season, making 15 appearances in his first year as the club reached the playoffs for the first time; he later joined Seattle and helped the Seawolves reach the semifinals in 2026. His 450-plus career points were accumulated across five MLR seasons spanning Houston and Seattle. Earlier this year he played for the USA XV against an Argentina XV; from next season he will be eligible to represent the USA Eagles, with his sights on the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia.
