Sacramento Jury Convicts Ihor Huryeyev of Kidnapping and Rape on October 27: Faces 23 Years to Life in Prison

The Sacramento County District Attorney's Office announced on October 29 that a jury had convicted defendant Ihor Huryeyev on October 27 of kidnapping to commit another crime, forcible rape, and forcible sodomy. The case, No. 24FE005272, was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Stephanie Athers of the office's Adult Sexual Assault Prosecution unit.
The case dates to March 26, 2024, when police responded to a reported rape on K Street in Sacramento. Prosecutors presented evidence at trial, and the jury returned guilty verdicts. Huryeyev faces a maximum sentence of 23 years to life in prison. Sentencing is set for February 5, 2027, at 9 a.m. in Department 12D before Judge Brody.
The District Attorney's Office said the verdict was the result of the investigation and prosecution of a sexual assault case and reflects the justice system's protection of victims. Sentencing results will be announced next February, and prosecutors will continue to follow the proceedings.
