New 'Friday' Movie Lands Its Director: Lawrence Lamont to Helm Ice Cube's 'Last Friday'
Director Lawrence Lamont will helm Ice Cube's newest 'Friday' comedy, 'Last Friday,' for New Line, The Hollywood Reporter reported in an exclusive on Oct. 27.
Lamont directed the 2025 comedy 'One of Them Days,' starring Keke Palmer and SZA — his feature directorial debut, which opened at No. 1 at the North American box office. The 'Friday' franchise began in 1995 with the Ice Cube-written and -starred hit, followed by 'Next Friday' (2000) and 'Friday After Next' (2002).
