St. Louis, St. Louis County, Missouri: The St. Louis Blues lost 2-0 at home at Enterprise Center to the Montreal Canadiens on the night of October 27, their second straight game being shut out. Canadiens goaltender Jacob Fowler made a career-high 46 saves for his sixth straight win, his second shutout of the season and the third of his career, having allowed no more than one goal in each of his past three starts. Fowler said afterward that the team emphasized boxing out in front of the net, letting him see the puck and make saves. Former Blues player Zachary Bolduc scored against his old team, Florian Xhekaj scored his first career goal, and Mike Matheson had two assists as Montreal won its third straight and extended its point streak to five games. Montreal head coach Martin St. Louis acknowledged that his team spent most of the game hemmed in its own zone but withstood the pressure without breaking.
