Eagles' October 28 Injury Report: Barkley and Smith Among Six Not Practicing in Walkthrough Ahead of November 1 Game at Washington

Wednesday, October 28, 2026 · Sports · GSM News

PHILADELPHIA, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania — The Philadelphia Eagles held a walkthrough practice on October 28, and their injury report listed six players as not participating, including running back Saquon Barkley and leading wide receiver DeVonta Smith. Because a walkthrough is not a regular practice, the report is an estimation of whether those players would have participated in a full session.

The six non-participants were Barkley (hamstring/back), Smith (hamstring), wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks (ankle), wide receiver and punt returner Britain Covey (knee), linebacker Jihaad Campbell (hamstring/quad) and cornerback Jonathan Jones (hamstring). Six other players were limited and seven practiced in full. The Eagles typically hold walkthroughs on the Wednesday after a Monday night game to give players an extra day of rest.

Smith missed the Eagles' 38-21 loss at the Dallas Cowboys on October 26 with a recurring hamstring injury — the third time since training camp began that the injury has sidelined him. Barkley opened the Dallas game with a 29-yard run, but his back tightened up and he was used sparingly, finishing with seven carries for 62 yards. The Eagles next play Sunday night, November 1, at the Washington Commanders.
