New York State Innovation Summit Held in Buffalo Oct. 27–28: Nine Startups Compete for $430,000 in Commercialization Funding

BUFFALO, Erie County, New York — The 2026 New York State Innovation Summit was held October 27–28 at the Buffalo Convention Center, hosted by the nonprofit FuzeHub in partnership with NYSTAR, the science, technology and innovation division of Empire State Development.
The summit is the state's annual event promoting technology-led economic growth, drawing technology leaders, manufacturers, researchers, entrepreneurs, investors and economic developers from across the state, with more than 550 attendees and over 50 exhibitors each year. The summit hosted the ninth New York State Commercialization Competition, supported by FuzeHub's Jeff Lawrence Innovation Fund, in which nine startups competed for $430,000: $150,000 for first place, $110,000 for second, and $85,000 each for two additional companies.
Organizers said the summit gives New York companies a platform to showcase new products, form partnerships and accelerate commercialization, while connecting Western New York businesses and research institutions in the Buffalo area directly with statewide investment and industry resources.
