Washington DNR to Auction Two Richland Trust Land Parcels on Nov. 18: 12.4-Acre Parcel 6A Starts at $2 Million, 23-Acre Parcel 7A at $6.01 Million

RICHLAND, Benton County, Washington — The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) announced on October 28 that it will auction two undeveloped state trust land parcels in Richland on Wednesday, November 18, in Room 303 of Building E at the Benton County Administration Building in Kennewick, with check-in at 9:45 a.m. and bidding at 10:30 a.m. Proceeds will be used to acquire replacement trust lands with greater revenue potential.
The parcels, known as Richland 16 Parcels 6A and 7A, sit along Queensgate Drive near a newly opened Costco. Parcel 6A is zoned for medium-density residential use, covers 12.4 acres northwest of the Costco adjacent to the planned Kingsgate Road extension, and carries a minimum bid of $2 million. Parcel 7A is zoned for high-density residential use, covers 23 acres, and carries a minimum bid of $6.01 million. Neither parcel includes water rights.
Commissioner of Public Lands Dave Upthegrove said selling the parcels lets DNR reinvest in lands that can generate sustainable revenue for Washington's trust beneficiaries, and is an opportunity to further develop communities in the Tri-Cities area. DNR manages state trust lands for the benefit of public schools and other trust beneficiaries.
