Issaquah Unveils 'Rick Rizzs Road' for Mariners Broadcaster Rick Rizzs, Honoring 41 Seasons; Hall of Fame Induction Set for Next Season

ISSAQUAH, King County, Washington — The city of Issaquah officially unveiled Rick Rizzs Road on October 28, honoring Seattle Mariners broadcaster Rick Rizzs for a play-by-play career spanning 41 seasons.
At the unveiling, the city and fans took up Rizzs's signature call, "Rizzs A Quah." Rizzs has spent more than four decades in the Mariners' broadcast booth, serving as a constant link between generations of fans and the team, his voice accompanying several eras of Seattle baseball. The city said naming a road recognizes Rizzs's impact on the entire Pacific Northwest, not just on one team.
The street naming follows the farewell weekend the Mariners held in September for the retiring Rizzs. The Mariners also announced that Rizzs will be inducted into the team's Hall of Fame next season, further cementing his place in franchise history. The unveiling was shared jointly by the city of Issaquah and the Mariners on social media.
