CHICAGO, Cook County, Illinois — The Chicago Blackhawks beat the Los Angeles Kings 2-1 at the United Center on the night of October 27, ending a three-game losing streak.

The Kings scored first before Roman Kantserov tied the game for Chicago. The turning point came at 7:17 of the third period, when defenseman Wyatt Kaiser took a pass from Frank Nazar and scored on a wrist shot from near the left faceoff circle — his first goal of the season — to put the Blackhawks ahead 2-1. Kaiser said afterward that the goal was a near-repeat of his game-winner in Los Angeles last December, which made him laugh.

Goaltender Spencer Knight made 25 saves to preserve the win; Chicago improved to 4-8 overall and 3-4 through seven home games. Kings goaltender Anton Forsberg also made 25 saves; Los Angeles went 3-2 on its five-game road trip and has lost two of its last three. Blackhawks veteran Patrick Kane recorded his 899th career assist in the game.
