Ohio Offers $15 Uber and Lyft Credits Over Halloween Weekend in Seven Counties

COLUMBUS, Franklin County, Ohio — The Ohio Traffic Safety Office (OTSO) announced on October 28 that its Project Plan Ahead will provide $15 Uber and Lyft ride credits for Halloween weekend, for trips beginning and ending within Franklin, Cuyahoga, Hamilton, Montgomery, Lucas, Summit and Butler counties.
Codes can be redeemed from 5 p.m. October 29 through 3 a.m. November 2, while supplies last; rides may not be scheduled in advance, and a second release of codes is set for 10 a.m. October 30. The federally funded program debuted over Memorial Day weekend, when 2,000 codes were claimed and more than 1,200 rides taken; over Labor Day weekend, 5,502 codes were issued and 4,226 redeemed, and traffic deaths statewide fell 55% from 2025 over that weekend.
OTSO said 19 fatal crashes killed 19 people during the 2025 Halloween period, 13 of them OVI-related, and that Franklin County has recorded 83 OVI fatal crashes over five years, the most of any county in Ohio. Codes are distributed through the project's website, ridewise.ohio.gov.
