NORMAN, Cleveland County, Oklahoma — The University of Oklahoma announced on October 28 that redshirt senior linebacker Owen Heinecke is one of 15 semifinalists for the 2026 Butkus Award, given annually to the nation's top college linebacker.
A Tulsa native and Bishop Kelley High School product, Heinecke has started all seven games this season and leads the team with 54 tackles, along with 6.5 tackles for loss, 4 quarterback hurries, 2.0 sacks and a forced fumble.
