24 Charged in Sinaloa-Linked Drug Network Dismantled in Nashville; More Than 500 kg of Meth Seized

NASHVILLE, Davidson County, Tennessee — Federal prosecutors and law enforcement announced on October 28 that a drug network with ties to Mexico's Sinaloa Cartel has been dismantled in Nashville. A 33-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury on October 21 and unsealed October 27 charges 24 individuals.
The indictment alleges the network was directed by an organization in Mexico referred to as "the Office," and that two high-ranking members, Humberto Morales, 34, and Jose Martin Perez, 30, ran operations from inside Tennessee state prisons using encrypted devices, including the Signal app, to communicate with co-conspirators outside. Between September 2025 and September 2026, the Nashville Homeland Security Task Force seized more than 500 kilograms of methamphetamine, 60 kilograms of cocaine, 20 kilograms of fentanyl, more than $375,000 in cash, multiple firearms and five vehicles.
"To my knowledge, this is one of the biggest drug busts I've ever been a part of," said U.S. Attorney Braden H. Boucek. "The drug trafficking organization alleged in this indictment has ties to the Sinaloa cartel." An indictment is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
