Pokémon UNITE to End Service on March 23, 2027: Switch and Mobile Versions Shut Down Together, Gem Sales Halted Oct. 27

The Pokémon Company and developer TiMi Studio Group have announced, through a notice on the game's official website, that the free-to-play team battle game Pokémon UNITE will end all service on March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC, with the Nintendo Switch and mobile versions shutting down on the same day. The announcement was published on Oct. 27.

The wind-down schedule is already in motion. As of 05:00 UTC on Oct. 27, sales of the paid currency Aeos gems were suspended, and new UNITE Club membership purchases and automatic renewals were stopped. Players can keep using gems they already hold until service ends, and current members keep their benefits until the end of their current membership period.

A special farewell event and update will arrive on Nov. 12, letting players obtain items released in the game over the years, including Unite licenses and Holowear. The update also adds a Library feature: players who complete the required data download before service ends will still be able to view certain records and in-game content offline afterward. Those who do not download the data in time will not be able to use the feature, and library data generally cannot be transferred when changing devices.

Pokémon UNITE first launched for Nintendo Switch on July 21, 2021, followed by iOS and Android on Sept. 22, 2021, as the Pokémon series' first team strategy battle game. After service ends on March 23, 2027, players will no longer be able to log in or take part in battles. The official Pokémon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 tournament in Tokyo will be held as previously announced, with qualifier tournaments starting on Dec. 5, 2026.
