AUSTIN, Travis County, Texas — Texan by Nature, an Austin-based conservation nonprofit, announced on October 28 the honorees of the eighth annual Texan by Nature 20 (TxN 20), its official recognition of companies with Texas operations that have made a demonstrable commitment to conservation.

To select the 2026 TxN 20, company data submissions were evaluated and independent research was conducted across more than 2,000 of Texas's publicly traded and private companies in 13 industry sectors, using a 17-point scoring system to narrow the field to the top 94 companies, from which a selection committee of industry leaders chose the final honorees. Criteria included a stated commitment to conservation, reported conservation metrics and investment, and measured impact on land, water, wildlife, people, waste and energy.

The honorees named by the organization are Apex Clean Energy, Cemex, Cirrus Logic, Darling Ingredients, Force of Nature Meats, HOLT CAT, J.Crew Group, Mary Kay Inc., MetLife, North American Development Bank, Overhaul, Overland Partners, Sabert Corporation, Tetra Pak, Texas A&M University, Texas Health Resources, WM and Xcel Energy.

'The 2026 TxN 20 honorees demonstrate that integrating conservation into business operations can lead to positive returns for people, prosperity, and natural resources,' said Joni Carswell, CEO and president of Texan by Nature. Former First Lady Laura Bush, the organization's founder, also congratulated this year's honorees. The 2026 TxN 20 is made possible by Jetco Delivery, with selection and recognition also supported by HOLT CAT.
