Film: Bong Joon Ho's The Host Returns in 4K on November 20, With a Bong and Edgar Wright Conversation
Magnolia Pictures this week released a trailer for the 4K restoration of The Host, South Korean director Bong Joon Ho's 2006 monster film. The restoration opens in theaters across the United States on November 20 and includes an exclusive conversation between Bong and British filmmaker Edgar Wright. This year marks the film's 20th anniversary.
The Host follows an ordinary family in Seoul after a mutated creature emerges from the Han River. It remains a key work from Bong's career before he won the Academy Award for Parasite, presenting his signature style within a genre framework.
Magnolia Pictures is announcing participating theaters and showtimes on a rolling basis. After its 2006 premiere, the film became one of the biggest box-office successes in South Korean cinema history and drew wide international attention.
