Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut Hosts Insurance Summit on October 29: Focus on Super Intelligence, Climate Risk and Premium Affordability

In Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut, the state Insurance Department and Connecticut Insurance and Financial Services co-hosted the third annual 'Insuring the Future' summit on the afternoon of October 29 at the Hartford Marriott Downtown, running from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. This year's theme is 'Rewriting Risk in an Era of Uncertainty,' bringing together insurance executives, regulators, technology experts and policymakers to discuss how the industry should respond to a rapidly changing risk landscape.
The agenda includes three expert panels: the applications and risks of super intelligence in insurance; the impact of climate and catastrophe risk on the affordability and availability of insurance; and the role of prevention, health and retirement planning in coverage that better meets consumer needs.
Insurance Commissioner Josh Hershman said insurance plays a key role in helping individuals, businesses and communities deal with uncertainty, and that regulators and the industry need in-depth exchanges on innovation, resilience, affordability and consumer protection. Hartford is known as the 'Insurance Capital,' and the summit is a major annual event for the state's insurance industry.
