IDACORP, the Boise, Ada County, Idaho-based parent of Idaho Power, reported its third-quarter 2026 results on October 29: net income of $160.2 million, or $2.73 per diluted share, up from $124.4 million, or $2.26 per share, a year earlier. The company also raised its full-year earnings guidance, lifting the 2026 range to $6.40 to $6.50 per share from $6.30 to $6.45.

The company disclosed that, under an Idaho regulatory settlement, Idaho Power recorded $6.3 million of additional renewable energy tax credit amortization in the first nine months of 2026, down from $39 million in the same period of 2025; the change was one of the main drivers of higher income tax expense, partly offset by increased allowance for funds used during construction.

The company also updated key full-year operating metrics: Idaho Power's operations and maintenance expense is expected at $535 million to $545 million, capital expenditures remain at $1.3 billion to $1.5 billion, and hydroelectric generation is expected at 5.5 million to 6.0 million megawatt-hours. The guidance assumes normal weather for the rest of 2026. After the report, the company's outlook for full-year earnings is more optimistic than before, reflecting the combined effect of nine-month operations and the regulatory amortization arrangements.
