Michigan Gaming Control Board Announces in Lansing, Ingham County on October 28: Polymarket US Halts New Michigan Sports Contracts, Positions to Close by November 25

The Michigan Gaming Control Board in Lansing, Ingham County, announced on October 28 that prediction market platform Polymarket US has agreed to stop offering new sports-related event contracts to Michigan customers and to close out remaining positions by the end of November 25.
The arrangement comes under a stipulated order reached October 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan. Polymarket US had previously sued Michigan officials and unsuccessfully sought a preliminary injunction; while it complies with the agreement, the state will take no enforcement action against it.
The board said Polymarket US is the fourth prediction market to yield on Michigan sports contracts, after Robinhood and Coinbase reached similar court-approved agreements, while Kalshi is bound by a state court injunction. Polymarket US's appeal of the denied injunction remains before the federal Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, which ruled on September 25 that Ohio and Tennessee may enforce their gambling laws against Kalshi.
The board's announcement included no statement from Polymarket, and the text of the stipulated order had not appeared in free public records as of October 29. The agreement draws a clear line for prediction market sports contracts in Michigan and offers a reference point for similar disputes in other states.
