North Dakota Vision Zero 'Sober Ride' Program Offers $10 Ride Vouchers Starting October 29: Statewide Anti-Drunk Driving Effort for Halloween

Thursday, October 29, 2026 · States · GSM News

North Dakota's Vision Zero 'ND Sober Ride' program began offering $10 ride vouchers to residents statewide on October 29, redeemable on the Uber and Lyft platforms to help people get home safely after Halloween parties. The vouchers are available from Thursday, October 29, through Halloween, while supplies last.

The program is run by North Dakota Vision Zero, and AAA has sponsored the vouchers since the program's launch. Organizers said the vouchers can be obtained through the program's published channels and used for the ride home from Halloween gatherings; they are valid only during the supply period, and residents were urged to claim them early.

State officials said Halloween is one of the highest-risk periods of the year for drunk driving, and offering a free ride option is meant to keep partygoers from driving after drinking. Residents can claim a voucher through the program's published channels and apply it when riding. Organizers reminded the public that quantities are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
