Nevada Gaming Control Board Reports September Gaming Win of $1.28 Billion in Las Vegas, Clark County on October 28: Las Vegas Strip Win Rises 0.82% to $693.47 Million

The Nevada Gaming Control Board, in Las Vegas, Clark County, released September statewide gaming revenue figures on October 28: total gaming win was $1.28 billion, essentially flat from a year earlier. Non-restricted licensees on the Las Vegas Strip won $693.47 million, up 0.82 percent from $687.83 million a year earlier; the small gain offset softness downtown, in Laughlin and in Reno.

According to data compiled by gaming industry publication CDC Gaming, total win across the state's 453 casinos slipped 0.05 percent year over year, while statewide win has grown a cumulative 1.6 percent since the fiscal year began on July 1. Analysts said Strip gaming revenue came in below expectations because mass-market table play fell 5 percent year over year, after a 19 percent drop in August, and operators at the Global Gaming Expo and on earnings calls also noted weakening trends in the Las Vegas Valley in August and September.

The monthly figures came a week after several Las Vegas operators reported mixed third-quarter results, leaving the market focused on whether the summer's strong momentum can continue.
