Ohio Traffic Safety Office in Columbus, Franklin County Launches 'Project Plan Ahead' Free Ride Credits on October 29: Up to $15 Across Seven Counties for Halloween

The Ohio Traffic Safety Office in Columbus, Franklin County, announced the launch of its 'Project Plan Ahead' program for Halloween, offering residents free rideshare credits of up to $15 to prevent drunk driving.
The credits can be redeemed between 5 p.m. on October 29 and 3 a.m. on November 2, and each ride must start or end in one of seven participating counties: Butler, Cuyahoga, Franklin, Hamilton, Lucas, Montgomery and Summit.
Data released by the office show that during the five-day Halloween period in 2025, Ohio recorded 19 fatal crashes and 19 deaths, 13 of them alcohol-related; over the past five years, Cuyahoga, Franklin, Hamilton and Montgomery counties have led the state in Halloween-period alcohol-related crashes. Credits are limited and available while supplies last; riders pay any fare above $15, and rides must be requested at the time of travel rather than scheduled in advance.
