Chicago, Cook County, Illinois: IMTS Extends McCormick Place Partnership Through 2034 on Oct. 29, About $250 Million in Economic Impact Per Show

AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology and McCormick Place announced on October 29 that they are extending their long-standing partnership, keeping Chicago as the host city of the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) through 2034. The extension covers the 2032 and 2034 editions of the show.

Held every two years at McCormick Place, IMTS is the largest manufacturing technology trade show in the Western Hemisphere, bringing together manufacturing professionals, technology innovators and industry leaders from around the world and driving business for Chicago's hotels, restaurants, transportation providers and other local businesses. Organizers estimate each edition generates about $250 million in economic impact for Chicago and Illinois.

The extension also came with an investment in the next generation of manufacturing talent: IMTS, together with Haas Automation and the Gene Haas Foundation, is contributing a combined $101,000 to Chicago Public Schools to support science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education programs that introduce students to advanced manufacturing technologies and career paths.

Organizers said the show's long roots in Chicago make the extension both a confirmation of its local economic contribution and a continuing investment in the city's manufacturing workforce. McCormick Place is Chicago's largest convention venue, and IMTS's long-term presence provides steady support for the convention industry and surrounding service businesses.
