South Dakota's Republican candidates stopped in Sioux Falls, in Minnehaha County, on October 29 with their bus tour for a joint campaign push in the final week before the election. The bus tour began on Monday, October 26, and ended on Thursday, October 29, with 12 stops over four days; after the Sioux Falls stop it would continue to Watertown, Madison and Brookings.

Governor Larry Rhoden said at the Sioux Falls stop that the previous three days of touring had been "great." On stage with him were his running mate, Lieutenant Governor Tony Venhuizen; Attorney General Marty Jackley, a candidate for the U.S. House; U.S. Senator Mike Rounds; District 13 state Representative Jack Kolbeck; and Don Haggar, a candidate for the state Public Utilities Commission.

In his remarks, Rounds took aim at opponents, saying Democrats in blue states are running as "democratic socialists," though he did not name independent candidate Brian Bengs. After a brief question-and-answer session, the candidates boarded the bus for the next stop. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, and the tour's purpose was to preserve Republican leadership in South Dakota.
