Texas Governor Abbott Issues State Disaster Declaration for El Paso County Flooding; Residents Can Report Damage Online

Texas Governor Greg Abbott on October 29 issued a state disaster declaration for flooding in El Paso County, activating the state emergency response. The governor said resources from the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) and other agencies have been deployed and that the state is coordinating with local officials to support affected communities.
Residents who suffered damage can report home and property losses through the Texas Division of Emergency Management's iSTAT online damage assessment tool; the reports are used to assess damage and guide assistance.
Officials also urged flood safety: do not drive through flooded roads, stay away from rising water, and follow local emergency guidance. A disaster declaration makes state resources available to the affected area and opens the way for further assistance processes.
