Ohio Governor DeWine Visits Dayton to Promote Regional Education Partnerships Linking Schools and Employers

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and First Lady Fran DeWine visited Dayton on October 29 to promote the regional education partnerships the state announced in September. Twelve regional partnerships across the state each bring together schools, employers, workforce organizations and community groups to connect classroom learning with local hiring needs.
The DeWines joined local education and business leaders for a roundtable hosted by Learn to Earn Dayton, which has been designated the statewide technical assistance provider charged with spreading Dayton-area practices to the other partnerships.
State officials said Learn to Earn Dayton's work on improving attendance includes partnering with the Dayton municipal court, public schools and ABLE to help families before an eviction occurs, reducing absences caused by housing instability.
