Nebraska Governor Pillen Highlights Grid Resilience in Fremont: Additional Federal Resources and Local Projects Recognized

Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen joined Katie Jereza, assistant secretary for the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Electricity, at a press conference in Fremont on October 29 on grid resilience.
The event announced additional federal funding resources for grid projects and recognized Nebraska local projects benefiting from Grid Resilience Formula Grants. Jesse Bradley, director of the Nebraska Department of Water, Energy and Environment (DWEE), and Fremont Mayor Dev Sookram attended.
Grid Resilience Formula Grants are federal funds allocated to states by formula to harden the electric grid against extreme weather and outages, with local power projects among the main beneficiaries.
