The Atlanta Dream defeated the Golden State Valkyries 80–69 in Game 6 of the WNBA Finals at State Farm Arena on October 29, tying the series at 3–3 and forcing the first Game 7 in WNBA Finals history. Atlanta opened with a 32-point first quarter and shot 73 percent from the floor over the first 15 minutes, controlling the game throughout. Allisha Gray led Atlanta with 23 points, Rhyne Howard added 21 and Jordin Canada scored 10. Angel Reese, despite an off shooting night, finished with 15 points, 14 rebounds and six assists for her fourth double-double of the series. Reese's 14 rebounds pushed her series total to 78, surpassing the single-series WNBA Finals record of 75 set by Hall of Famer Sylvia Fowles in 2017. For Golden State, Gabby Williams scored 26 points and Tiffany Hayes scored 15, but Hayes left the game in the fourth quarter after colliding with a teammate and an opponent while chasing a loose ball and did not return. Game 7 will be played at 8 p.m. Eastern on October 31 at Chase Center in San Francisco, with the winner taking the championship. Atlanta, facing elimination after consecutive losses in Games 4 and 5, responded in front of a sold-out home crowd at a 12:30 p.m. tipoff.
