Mississippi Statewide: Democratic Rep. Clyburn Campaigns at Three Stops With Senate Candidate Colom on Oct. 29: Clinton Follows in Tupelo on Oct. 30

Across Mississippi, Democratic U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn of South Carolina joined Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Scott Colom on October 29 for a three-stop campaign trip. Clyburn is a veteran civil rights advocate in Congress and has long been regarded as a major figure in South Carolina politics. Colom's campaign confirmed that former President Bill Clinton will travel to Tupelo on Friday, October 30 to campaign for Colom. Colom said Clinton's trip will focus on issues Mississippians care about, including rising gasoline and grocery prices and the impact of tariffs on farmers and small businesses. Earlier this week, former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg campaigned for Colom in Biloxi on October 27, criticizing Republican incumbent Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith's congressional voting record. The Senate election will be held on November 3; Democrats have sent a steady stream of national figures to campaign in the final week, and on the Republican side Hyde-Smith also brought in President Trump to campaign for her in Corinth this week.
