CBP Seizes More Than $250,000 in Undeclared Jewelry at Philadelphia Airport and Initiates Global Entry Revocation

In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced on October 30 that its officers seized more than $250,000 in undeclared jewelry at Philadelphia International Airport. The traveler was a Global Entry member who arrived from Amsterdam, Netherlands, on October 25.
CBP said that in addition to seizing the undeclared jewelry, it has initiated action to revoke the traveler's Global Entry membership. Global Entry is CBP's trusted traveler program, which allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers who agree to comply with all U.S. laws and regulations.
CBP's border security mission is led at the nation's ports of entry by officers and agriculture specialists from the Office of Field Operations, who screen international travelers and cargo for illicit narcotics, unreported currency, weapons, counterfeit consumer goods and other illicit products.
