Rockies Fixture Clint Hurdle Announces Departure, Final Day October 31
Clint Hurdle, a fixture of the Colorado Rockies for more than 20 years, announced on social media on October 30 that he is leaving the organization, with his final day on October 31.
Hurdle, 69, is best known as the manager of the 2007 Rockies team that reached the World Series — still the franchise's only appearance. He returned to the club in 2022 as a special assistant to the general manager and served as a hitting coach in 2025. In his statement, Hurdle stressed that he is not retiring but 'recalculating' his personal and professional journey.
The Rockies' official account thanked him the same day, calling his 20-plus years of impact 'immeasurable.' According to reports, the parting was mutual, which a team spokesperson confirmed. Hurdle's next stop has not been announced.
