Dodgers Owner Mark Walter Breaks Silence: 'We're Going to Keep the Team No Matter What'

Los Angeles Dodgers owner Mark Walter publicly addressed speculation about his sports holdings on October 30, stating clearly that he will not sell the Dodgers. 'We're going to keep the team no matter what. We're going to be winning for 10 years or more,' Walter said in an interview.
The remarks followed a string of asset sales that fueled speculation about his plans: he sold majority ownership of the Los Angeles Lakers to Joshua Kushner and former Disney CEO Bob Iger after about a year of ownership, later ceded his shares in Premier League club Chelsea, and has reportedly explored selling the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks.
Walter remains the subject of two federal investigations involving alleged fraud on the life-insurance side of his portfolio. Dodgers president Stan Kasten has said the Lakers sale 'is a Lakers story, not a Dodgers story,' while president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman said Walter's focus has been on offseason planning and positioning the club to win.
