South Dakota Early Voting Reaches 31,006: Republicans Six in Ten, Independents 14 Percent

In Sioux Falls, Minnehaha County, South Dakota, county auditors reported on October 30 that early voting continues to climb as the November 3 election approaches. Statewide, more than 31,000 absentee ballots have been mailed in, and more than 26,000 people have voted early in person, according to figures from the Secretary of State's office.
County auditors said early voting sites have stayed busy with strong participation. Associated Press figures show early voting is significantly outpacing the 2022 midterm election, and neighboring states are seeing similar surges.
Absentee and in-person early voting remain open through county auditor offices until Election Day on November 3. Election officials remind voters to confirm their polling place and identification requirements ahead of time. County figures will continue to be updated until the early voting period ends.
