West Virginia Announces Over $3.3 Million in Water Infrastructure Funding for Beech Bottom: Two Storage Tanks Repaired and the Route 2 Water Main Completed

In Beech Bottom, Brooke County, West Virginia, Governor Patrick Morrisey joined local and state leaders on October 30 to announce more than $3.3 million in critical water infrastructure funding for the Village of Beech Bottom, to repair water storage tanks and complete a long-awaited water main and fire hydrant project along Route 2, stabilizing water service and boosting economic development in the Northern Panhandle.
The package has two parts: the state will cover 100 percent of the $283,000 needed to repair two side-by-side water storage tanks serving approximately 550 local residents and industrial users, through the Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council's Critical Needs Fund; and the Governor's Civil Contingent Fund will contribute $400,000 to complete a $3 million package for the Route 2 water main and fire hydrant loop project.
The state said the Beech Bottom projects are part of more than $58 million in water and wastewater project packages recently finalized across West Virginia.
